Acrylonitrile is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H3N. It is a colorless and pungent liquid, flammable, and its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air. When exposed to open flames and high heat, it can easily cause combustion and release toxic gases. It reacts violently with oxidants, strong acids, strong bases, amines, and bromine.
