Application

1. Used as a reaction medium for aromatic hydrocarbon extraction, resins and dyes, as well as a solvent for acrylic fiber polymerization and spinning.
2. It can be used as an organic solvent, reaction medium, and intermediate in organic synthesis. Extremely versatile. By utilizing the carrier properties of dimethyl sulfoxide, it can also be used as an additive for pesticides. Dimethyl sulfoxide can also be used as a dyeing solvent, dye remover, dyeing carrier for synthetic fibers, as well as an absorbent for recovering acetylene and sulfur dioxide, synthetic fiber modifier, antifreeze, capacitor medium, brake oil, rare metal extraction agent, etc.
3. Used as an analytical reagent and gas chromatography stationary liquid, as well as a solvent for UV spectroscopy analysis.
4. Transdermal enhancer.
5. Antifreeze. The freezing point of pure dimethyl sulfoxide is 18.45 ºC, and dimethyl sulfoxide with 40% water content does not freeze at -60 ºC. Moreover, dimethyl sulfoxide releases heat when mixed with water and snow. Therefore, making automotive antifreeze, brake oil, and hydraulic fluid components provides convenience.
