Cyclohexanone, an organic compound, chemical formula C6H10O, is a saturated cycloketone whose carbonyl carbon atoms are contained within a six-membered ring. A clear colorless liquid with an earthy flavor and a minty taste when containing traces of phenol. Impure for light yellow, with storage time generated impurities and color, water white to gray yellow, with a strong pungent odor. With air mixing the blast pole is identical to the open chain saturated ketone. In industry, it is mainly used as organic synthetic raw materials and solvents, such as cellulose nitrate, paint, paint and so on.

Application

Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material and the main intermediate of nylon, caprolactam and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as for paint, especially for those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymer and its copolymer or methacrylate polymer paint. An excellent solvent for organophosphorus pesticides and many analogues, as a solvent for dyes, as a viscous solvent for piston aviation lubricants, as a solvent for fats, waxes and rubbers. It is also used as a homogenizing agent for dyeing and fading silk, a degreasing agent for polishing metals, and a wood coloring paint. Used as a high boiling point solvent in cosmetics such as nail polish. It is usually mixed with low boiling point solvent and medium boiling point solvent to obtain suitable volatilization rate and viscosity.
