Trichloroethylene, chemical formula C2HCl3, is a compound formed by replacing three hydrogen atoms in ethylene molecule with chlorine. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, etc. Trichloroethylene is a combustible liquid, which can cause fire and explosion in case of open fire and high heat. Trichloroethylene has been used as analgesics and metal degreasing agents, extractants, fungicides and refrigerants, and dry cleaners for clothes. Long term exposure can cause trigeminal paralysis and other diseases.

1.Trichloroethylene is excellent solvent, used as metal surface treatment agent, cleaning agent before electroplating and painting, metal degreaser and extractant of fat, oil and paraffin.
2.It is used in organic synthesis.
3.Trichloroethylene can be used to produce tetrachloroethylene and hexachloroethane to control liver vermiculiosis, stomach vermiculiosis, clonorchiasis and nematodiasis of ruminants.
